BREAKING: "Home Alone" to be Rebooted with Jiobit as Lead Producer
Los Angeles, April 1, 2019 - Beloved John Hughes film “Home Alone” will be rebooted this holiday season with location-based technology company, Jiobit, as Lead Producer.
The original film, starring Macaulay Culkin, Catherine O’Hara and Joe Pesci, showed a story about the McCallister family going on a holiday vacation, but forgetting their son Kevin at home. What follows are family fun hijinks, two burglars, a man who feeds pigeons, and a heartwarming reunion.
The new film will take advantage of Jiobit’s real-time tracking technology. It will again present the McCallister family leaving Kevin at home, but on the way to the airport, they realize Kevin is still home, because of Trusted Places, a feature with Jiobit. The parents set up Home as a Trusted Place and get notifications when kids enter and exit. In the film, they get notifications for all their kids (even Buzz and his girlfriend… woof), except for Kevin.
Further, all the aunts and uncles are on Kevin’s Care Team. So the responsibility of Kevin’s location is not exclusively on one parent, but a whole team of adults.
At this point, the family turns around, gathers Kevin, and has a wonderful holiday trip! Harry and Marv try to rob the house, but because the McCallister's use Ring, they get caught immediately and everything is fine.
The runtime of the film is 15 minutes.
The Jiobit team is comprised of seasoned designers, marketers, engineers, and film fans. The team has a history of building innovative and disruptive consumer products and businesses. While they have shipped dozens of hardware and software products worldwide, they are excited to move into the film industry, and plan on remaking films like Man on Fire, Fargo, Homeward Bound, and Dude Where’s My Car?.
